WWE: Unreal Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix. During Season 2, Episode 1, “No Days Off,” the Netflix docuseries details the career of Becky Lynch and her hiatus from WWE following her Women’s World Title loss to Liv Morgan at WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 in May of that year. Lynch revealed that she was feeling burned out at the time and needed some time off, so Triple H allowed her to put things on pause so she could take a break.
Additionally, the episode also documents Lynch making her surprise return to WWE at WrestleMania 41, teaming with Lyra Valkyria against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at the premium live event. Earlier in January, it was reported that Lynch signed a new multi-year contract with WWE.
During the episode, Lynch says that she’s in “the final contract” of her career ahead of her WrestleMania return. Below are some highlights from the episode:
Becky Lynch on Feeling Burnt Out in 2024
“2024, I was pretty burnt out, and I said, ‘Okay, I think this is a good pause.’ I had been going on…all cylinders since I came back from having my daughter. I love WWE, but I was always away from her for quite a bit. And I felt like when I’d come home, she’d be mad at me, you know? And I hated that. She was always like my little bud. For all the thrills that you feel going out in front of 30,000 people chanting your name or booing you or whatever it is, like, when I go to her gymnastics class, and I see her doing like a half-decent cartwheel, I’m like, ‘Oh my god! My baby!’ It’s the greatest thing ever. May 2024, I told Hunter [Triple H], I said, ‘Look, my contract’s up. I wanna take some time off.’ And he said, ‘Okay, look, we’ll pause it. We’ll give you a little bit of time, and then we’ll renegotiate the contract whenever you’re ready. So that’s what we did.”
On How She’s Currently in Her Final Contract
“You know, I love working, I love getting in front of the crowd, I love wrestling. But there’s also that hard part of, ‘Now, Mum’s got to go to work. That guilt is always hard. Like I had this little kid that I had been leaving. I felt like when I’d come back that she was angry at me. Like I didn’t…Like I hadn’t had enough time with her. The time off, it was maybe gonna be forever. I don’t think I knew. I was kind of so content. This is probably it. This is the final run. This is the final contract. So, I suppose it’s a matter of knowing that, understanding that, and enjoying that the best, the best I can.”
Becky Lynch recently regained the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title from Maxxine Dupri on the first edition of WWE Raw of 2025. She successfully defended the title against Dupri on last night’s WWE Raw in Belfast, Northern Ireland. WWE: Unreal Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
🚨: Becky Lynch states this current run of hers is probably her last run in WWE.
“This is the final run. This is the final contract.”
