Big E. Says He Thought New Day’s Unicorn Horns Were a ‘Silly Idea’ At First

The New Day became known for (among other things) their unicorn horns, and Big E. says he thought it was silly at first. The team had a habit of turning silly ideas into things that got over with fans and even, such as the unicorn horns and Booty-Os, merchandise movers.

Big E got on board with the unicorn horns, even revealing a few years back that his dream entrance was a “Trojan unicorn.” But he told Simon Miller during a mostly tongue-in-cheek interview that he initially thought the idea of the unicorn horn gear was a bit silly. “You know, I thought it was a silly idea, if I’m being honest. I thought the whole unicorn thing was silly, but it was eye-opening for me. Because I realized a lot of the things that I thought were silly and stupid and that we probably shouldn’t do, I just said, ‘Okay. Woods is inventive, let’s give it a shot.’ And it worked out.”

On Turning It Into Merchandise:

“Now seeing that we could actually strap this phallic device to the top of our heads and sell it to people, it was eye-opening. It was eye-opening. But no, I’m proud of of the nonsense that we shared.”
