Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming thriller Disclosure Day, and it left some wrestling fans surprised. Despite confirmed filming from Brian Cage and Lance Archer, neither wrestler appears in the initial footage.
The teaser, released on December 16, focuses on the film’s main cast. Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, and Colin Firth dominate the tense, fast-cut preview. The scenes hint at a high-stakes story but offer no sign of Cage or Archer, who filmed scenes earlier this year.
Cage previously confirmed that he and Archer were part of the production. That reveal sparked buzz among AEW and independent wrestling fans. Many were eager to see two of wrestling’s most imposing figures share the screen in a Spielberg-directed film.
Disclosure Day is directed by Spielberg and written by longtime collaborator David Koepp. It marks the director’s first theatrical release since West Side Story in 2021. Universal has scheduled the film for a June 12, 2026, release.
The absence of Cage and Archer from the teaser does not necessarily signal a reduced role. For now, their involvement remains officially confirmed, even if unseen. Additional trailers, TV spots, or behind-the-scenes features could spotlight them closer to release. Spielberg’s films often keep key elements under wraps until later campaigns.
