Humanity Discovers They Aren’t Alone in Official Trailer of Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day

Humanity finds out they aren’t alone in the universe in the new UFO-themed motion picture, Disclosure Day. Steven Spielberg returns to the realm of science fiction in the new movie, where the Earth discovers it isn’t alone, and humanity grows near the “Disclosure Day.” The official trailer is now available below from Universal Pictures.

In the new movie, humanity faces a global event, where they find out the truth of what appears to be alien life. If that were shown to humanity, would it frighten them? As the synopsis states, “This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.”

The original event film is created and directed by Spielberg, based on a story he wrote. It also features a screenplay by David Koepp, who previously worked with Spielberg for Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Of course, Spielberg has previously explored extraterrestrials, alien life forms, and UFOs with his classic films, such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. He did it again years later with his 2005 adaptation of War of the Worlds, based on the novel by H. G. Wells.

The feature is produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment. The executive producers are Adam Somner and Chris Brigham. Disclosure Day stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.

It arrives in theaters from Universal on June 12, 2026.
