WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Brie Bella shared a new vlog on her YouTube channel, as she preps for her tag team title bout at this weekend’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Joining her in the video is her coach and husband, former WWE Champion and AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson.

During the vlog, Danielson speaks about his creative process for training and teaching for wrestling, noting that he likes to watch at least one wrestling match a day. Also, he likes to journal and write ideas down in cursive, believing it will help him remember the ideas better.

Danielson explained, “I mean, I think learning pro wrestling is like is like learning anything, right? You have you if you really want to learn something, you have to put time and effort into it. And uh and so one of the things that I still do, I kind of stopped doing it when I stopped wrestling but then started doing it again in training with you is watching at least one match every day. It’s like having the habit and discipline of watching at least one wrestling match every day.”

He continued how he likes to journal his wrestling ideas, stating, “I’ve been doing it for 25 years, and one of the things that that does is like physically writing it down. This is what they say. Physically writing it down rather than even just typing it into your phone helps you remember things better. And then writing it down in cursive. I read that several years ago actually helps you remember it even better than that. So I tend to write all the ideas that I get. And some of them are, and some of them are ideas that are direct. Oh, I saw this, and it’s a direct like that. Or sometimes you see an idea, and then that spawns a different idea that comes off here, and then if you imagine I’ve been doing that every day for 25 years, there’s a lot of connective tissue there.”

Danielson added: “So that when you’re saying something like, ‘Okay, so I’m wrestling so and so here, you know, do you have any ideas?’ There’s a million. And I think when we train, I think she sees once, okay, she she really likes an idea, like if she likes a certain concept, then because I’ve been writing all these things down cuz I have so many connective tissue, that becomes a base and then that can turn into this or that can turn into this or we can do this from that or this from that or that from that and that becomes a base. And then you have if you have all these different bases that you have all these other connective tissues with, then now you have what’s essentially how your brain works is like all these neurons connecting to all these other different neurons, and you can piece them together however you would like.”

Brie Bella also revealed that Danielson has had her watching vintage matches with Macho Man Randy Savage to get her ready for this weekend. Danielson stated on the method, “I think a lot of entertainment, art, whatever you have as context, right? So, if it’s like you can’t go back and wrestle like they did in the 1980s, exactly, right. But you can. there’s things that you can take from that and adapt to here.”

Brie Bella and tag team partner Paige will be defending their titles against Fallon and Lainey Reid later this weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, July 18. The event is being held at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. It will stream live on Peacock. You can also check out Brie and Danielson’s new training vlog below.
