The past week or so has been forgettable for Bron Breakker. The Badass was embarrassed at the Royal Rumble, as he was eliminated within seconds by Oba Femi after being attacked by a masked mystery man during his entrance. To make things worse, Breakker now faces a race against time to recover as WrestleMania 42 draws closer.

Last night, Dave Meltzer reported that Bron Breakker recently underwent surgery after sustaining a serious hernia injury and is sidelined for the time being. This morning, Mike Johnson of PWInsider provided more details, as he reported that The Vision member sustained the injury while “flipping over the announce table” in the opening segment of WWE RAW last Monday night.

While Johnson reported that no timeline has been set for Bron’s return, Fightful Select is reporting that sources close to the situation in WWE are “optimistic” about Breakker returning in time. However, there is no update on his WrestleMania status. One source, per Fightful, claimed that the former Intercontinental Champion received praise for working through the pain on RAW.

Last week, Dave Meltzer reported that Breakker was taken out by a hooded figure at the Royal Rumble to set up a match between him and Seth Rollins for WrestleMania 42, as the company expects The Visionary to return in time. If that was indeed the case, Bron’s unfortunate injury could force the creative team to pivot unless the 28-year-old returns well in time before The Show of Shows
