Carmella Backtracks On Statement That She Is Retired

Carmella has apparently changed her mind about whether she’s retired or not, pushing back on her own words from a podcast appearance. As noted earlier today, Carmella appeared on the Hot Mom S**t Podcast with Laura Cleary and said that she is retired from the ring when talking about working with her husband Corey Graves in WWE. Specifically, her words were:

“I related a little bit to like when your book and you’re saying like our dates were all about, you know, half romance, half business planning, half like so we did that. Luckily, I don’t — I’m retired now, so it’s definitely a little bit different.”

She also noted that she “can’t wrestle anymore. I’m a mom, I have kids, so…I’m retired.” That seems to have not been as definitive as she intended it to sound, as she posted to Twitter to respond to a fan reacting to her comments.

Carmella wrote:

“You guys…. My foot is healed. And I’m in the best shape of my life….. definitely not retired.”

Bayley then replied to Carmella with a succinct reponse of “PROVE IT.”

Carmella exited WWE in 2025 when her contract expired and was not renewed. She last competed at a WWE live event in March of 2023.
