Cathy Kelley Met With USA Network, Says They Were Discussing More Post-Smackdown Content

Cathy Kelley has revealed she had a meeting not too long ago with USA Network, who were looking to expand their content that will follow WWE Smackdown. With WWE Smackdown returning to two hours for the last half of 2026, USA Network has had an extra hour of content to air on Friday nights. The company aired the second season of Braun Strowman’s Everything On the Menu after Smackdown.
Kelley was a guest on Notsam Wrestling and was talking with Sam Roberts about USA Network having that extra hour that WWE talent could fill. She noted that she met with someone from USA Network a few months ago. You can see the highlights below:
On Meeting With USA Network:
“I mean, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this. But several months ago, I had a meeting with someone from USA Network. And they were talking about expanding their content after Smackdown. Because now that it’s two hours, they have that extra hour to fill. And they want it to be something that will still maintain the WWE viewership. But also, have a different aspect of entertainment involved… Adjacent to wrestling, you know?”
On WWE Stars Doing Projects Outside of WWE:
See, I don’t just want to see that there [on USA Network]. I want to see that in all of media. I think that it is so amazing that we are in a time that WWE is allowing their superstars or talent to do outside projects. I know that some of the fandom doesn’t want the talent to be doing all these movies, and taking time off and whatever that is. But I think it’s so cool to watch a Street Fighter, to watch a television show that you’re in love with and then see your favorite.
“That just expands the fandom; that expands the reach that wrestling has. And then it I think makes the product better. And it also it makes it a little easier to convince your friend that doesn’t watch wrestling to watch wrestling.”
