Update on Chad Gable’s Chances of Competing in Real American Freestyle

As noted previously, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently teased the idea of Chad Gable performing in an amateur wrestling promotion, Real American Freestyle (RAF), in the future.
Dave Meltzer commented on the possibility of the same in this week’s issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON). Meltzer noted that Chad Gable hasn’t competed in amateur wrestling in the past 14 years. He feels that they could pit the Olympian against an influencer. He also added that it would eventually come down to the money offered, noting that Real American Freestyle has been spending money between international signings and UFC fighters like Gable Steveson and Co.
However, Meltzer added that the key would be whether WWE President Nick Khan would allow Chad Gable to compete in the RAF. He cited the example of Gable Steveson, claiming that the latter was not allowed to compete in the last Olympics or for his third NCAA title.
According to Meltzer, the belief is that the whole point of RAF is to generate enough buzz for the likes of TKO or someone else to buy it, paving the way for people who started the company to make money out of it.
