Chelsea Green Announces That AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles Match Will Kick Off WWE NXT Gold Rush

WWE released a new promo video with a video from WWE Women’s United States Champion and AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion Chelsea Green. Green revealed that she and tag team partner Ethan Page’s AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship match against Joe Hendry and Thea Hail will kick off WWE NXT Gold Rush: Night 1 on Tuesday, November 18.

Green opens the video by stating, “WWE NXT, AAA Universe, we are live in the Big Apple!” When the camerawoman interrupts and points out that they are in Albany and not New York City, Green responds, “Okay, I’m the president entering my second term, I think I know United States geography. Paint it all over Broadway, plaster it all over a billboard, put it up in Times Square! Your favorite Mixed AAA Tag Team Champions will be defending their honor in the opening match of NXT’s Gold Rush!”

She added, “And we’re gonna cream none other than Thea Hail and Joe — he who shall not be named. But adios for now because a girl has to go explore the city that sleeps.”

Of course, Green’s anger against Joe Hendry is related to how Hendry and Thea Hail recently surprise attacked the champions on a recent edition of NXT TV, leading to Green getting her face stuck in cake. Hendry later made fun of Green with a song that parodied “American Pie,” except this version had lyrics that said, “Chelsea got pied.”

Hendry was later forced to take down the video after receiving a legal letter from Green. Now, Green and Page have their shot at payback against Hendry and Hail at NXT Gold Rush.

WWE NXT Gold Rush: Night 1 takes place on Tuesday, November 18. The event takes place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It will air live on The CW starting at 8:00 pm EST.
