Chelsea Green recently discussed the disconnect between the stadium reaction and online reaction to her match with Nia Jax on WWE Smackdown. Green defended the title against Jax on last week’s WWE Smackdown in Mexico City. It was her first match since suffering a broken orbital bone the week after winning the title at WWE SummerSlam.
Green and Matt Cardona were guests on Notsam Wrestling, and Green weighed in on the online reaction. You can see the highlights below:
On the Reaction To Her Match With Jax:
“So yes, I did break my orbital bone and then I wrestled Nia. And I thought it was a banger of a match, but the internet told me otherwise. [laughs] No, you know, one thing about them — they stay humbling me. For 13 years, I can’t get a big head.”
On Cardona Pointing Out ‘No One Tweets About a Good Flight:
“When he when Matt said that, I was like, ‘You are right.’ And look, my friends are also very real with me. Like Jordynne Grace — very, very real, whether I want to hear it or not. She told me she liked the match. That’s who I trust… Oh, she would tell me [if she didn’t like it]. Oh, she would tell me in depth.”
On Tweets Feeling More Personal Than Crowd Reaction:
“No, it it feels real personal. Especially when Mexico City tells you that it was amazing, and they are loud the whole time and you come back feeling like, ‘Yes, I just entertained the s**t out of them.’ You know what I mean? And then you get a whole different opinion elsewhere. Like, it’s very jarring.”
On the Noise Of Social Media:
“It’s deafening, it’s deafening. So at the end of the day, you just have to touch grass. But I’ve always preached to touch grass. Like, that’s why I don’t have X anymore, because I have to stay touching grass or else seriously, you will spiral.”
