Chelsea Green is set to expand her resume beyond the wrestling ring. The WWE star has confirmed that she will make her horror film debut in the upcoming movie Red Wedding.
Green officially announced her involvement in the project by quote-tweeting a news article about the film on social media. In her post, she described Red Wedding as “my horror movie debut,” confirming months of speculation after previously teasing a role in a horror project back in April.
The announcement marks Green’s first confirmed acting role in the horror genre and adds her name to a growing list of professional wrestlers branching out into film and television projects outside of wrestling.
According to Deadline, Red Wedding will feature Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin in leading roles. LaVera is known for her work in the Terrifier franchise, while Culkin has appeared in a variety of films and TV shows throughout his career.
The film is being written and directed by Josh Stolberg. Stolberg has built a strong reputation in the horror genre through his work on several major franchise entries. His previous writing credits include Saw X, Spiral, and Jigsaw.
While details regarding Green’s role in Red Wedding have not yet been revealed, her social media confirmation officially affirms her involvement with the project.
