Chris Jericho may be back in AEW, but he’s not backing off his outside interests and says he has a role in a Michael B. Jordan-produced series. Jericho made his return to AEW TV on the April 1st episode of AEW Dynamite. While he’s been working on AEW TV regularly, he has also been increasingly popping up on TV in other projects like Margo’s Got Money Troubles.

Jericho spoke about his acting work in his interview on Close-Up With Renee Paquette. He noted that he has a role in a series produced by Jordan, who won Best Actor at this year’s Oscars for his double role in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, and said that he wants to do more of that kind of work.

Jericho didn’t say what series he is attached to, though Jordan currently has only one series that he is known to be attached to: The Greatest, a drama about Muhammed Ali that is set up at Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video starring Jaalen Best as the legendary boxer. The film shot in the Ontario area and is set to premiere later this year. It’s not clear if Jericho meant this series or another, as-yet-unannounced project. You can see highlights from his comments below:

On His Upcoming Acting Roles:

“I do. Yeah, I do. I was just on Dexter. That was kind of released by the paparazzi that on the streets of New York City when we did a scene outside. So that’s coming up. And then I have a really big — not a big part, it’s a really good part in a big series that’s coming out very soon. That I’m not going to say what it is, but it’s produced by Michael B. Jordan, who just won an Oscar. So that’s a big part.

“And then I did Tracker, which was a big show on CBS, which is another show that I didn’t realize how big it was. So I had four really big parts in a row, which creates a little bit of a buzz.

On His Non-Wrestling Goals:

“So it’s still more of what I’m doing. I want to tour more with Fozzy. I want to do more acting. Like, now that I’ve had the taste of the big leagues and the good response from it, I want to do more of that.

“But I mean, I don’t really have a list of things that I want to do. But having said that, there’s so many things that come my way that I pick and choose what I want to do and get involved in them and enjoy them. Because it’s fun to do these things. You know, it’s fun to be involved with some of these interesting, weird, and wacky projects.”
