Chris Jericho has had a lengthy career both in and out of the ring, and he recently discussed what keeps him creatively motivated as a performer. The AEW star has kept his creative endeavors spread out between pro wrestling, music, acting, podcasting and much more, and he has consistently said he has no signs of slowing down.

Jericho was asked what keeps him motivated during his recent interview with Dan Marston, and he talked about how he stays inspired by finding creative outlets everywhere he can. You can see the highlights below:

On What Keeps Him Motivated Creatively:

“Honestly, things like what we’re doing right now, but but times it by a million. Like, I still love doing cool things that people who appreciate my work will think is cool. I take great responsibility in entertaining people that appreciate Chris Jericho’s work. But not just in wrestling or not just in music; in as many different ways as I can. Because to me, that’s exciting. Creatively, I need to be stimulated and be motivated. So that’s one reason. too.

On Being Motivated By His Fans:

“I got a lot of fans and friends — I call them friends more than fans — but people who appreciate what I do and, and can’t wait to see what I’m doing next. So whether it’s the Jericho Cruise or it’s Talk is Jericho, or if I’m on Dexter, or we’re doing Fozzy.

“You know, we played yesterday at um Temple in Columbus and there was 50,000 people for our show. And then afterwards, I found out that the Way brothers from MCR are huge Jericho fans. They waited in line to meet me when they were kids, and here they are headlining this massive festival with My Chemical Romance. So, it’s just kind of cool to see how I’m influenced by these guys, but then I’ve influenced those guys. And it all kind of blends in together in a really cool, creative, respectful soup, shall we say.”

On Planning To Stay Active Even When He Finishes Wrestling:

So, yeah I mean, what am I going to do? Retire from doing everything and go take this box, and put it over there and grow flowers for the rest of my life? So, I have no intentions of of slowing down. I might not be wrestling forever, nor do I want to be. But you can play music until you’re in your 80s, and you can act and you can do podcasts and you can do a lot of cool s**t. That’s what I plan to continue doing.”
