Note on CM Punk No Longer Being Advertised For Some WWE Events

CM Punk being removed from several upcoming WWE live event promos sparked plenty of online speculation this week. However, a new report suggests the situation is tied to scheduling changes.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE internally described Punk’s absence from certain promotional materials as “nothing more” than an adjustment to his schedule.

“CM Punk has been removed from the advertising from the European tour and several other Raw dates in June. We were told there is nothing more to this than a schedule change.”

The changes affected multiple dates on WWE’s European summer tour, including shows scheduled between May 28 and June 22. Punk had originally been advertised for the shows beginning in Liverpool and continuing through the June 22 episode of WWE RAW at London’s O2 Arena.

Even with those updates, CM Punk remains listed for several upcoming RAW appearances in the United States. WWE is still advertising him for RAW episodes on May 18, May 25, and June 15, as well as the June 22 London show. He is also currently promoted for major summer episodes of RAW in Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Des Moines through July and early August.

Punk has not appeared on WWE television since the April 20 RAW episode following WrestleMania 42. That show came one night after his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Roman Reigns.

The same episode featured a tense segment between Punk and Cody Rhodes, teasing a possible future direction that has not been revisited since. Fans also spent weeks speculating that Punk could appear as the mystery partner tied to Danhausen ahead of Backlash. WWE ultimately revealed Minihausen instead.
