As previously reported, Danhausen posted an image on social media suggesting he’s now gone from AEW, and he’s also been removed from the AEW roster page. Fightful Select has more details on the very nice, very evil wrestler’s AEW exit.
The report confirms that Danhausen’s AEW contract expired. It’s noted that Danhausen wasn’t booked despite being healthy for years at a time. Additionally, the report notes that the wrestler’s option year was picked up and then extended due to injuries. Despite his contract being extended, Danhausen did not appear on AEW or ROH programming at all since Final Battle 2024 in December of that year.
Fans have already theorized that Danhausen could be the individual inside the crate that’s supposed to be opened tonight at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026. Fightful notes that Danhausen would theoretically be available to be the one in the crate, but the outlet hasn’t confirmed if Danhausen is in Chicago or the United Center for tonight’s premium live event.
Also, Fightful reports that there are people in WWE who have been pushing for him. Whether or not Danhausen signs with WWE or appears in the crate remains to be seen.
WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 takes place later tonight at Chicago’s United Center. The WWE PLE will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
