Danhausen has seen his popularity explode since his arrival to WWE at the Elimination Chamber event in February. The most surprising aspect of Danhasuen’s rise to prominence has been his knack for applying or lifting curses on sports teams. His effect on the New York Knicks has been well publicized, the success of which has led to Danhausen being asked to curse or uncurse various sports teams. The World Cup final may or may not have been affected by his cursing Argentina prior to the game.

Danhausen was interviewed prior to Saturday Night’s Main Event by Sal Licata, a NYC sports media personality that interacted with Danhausen during the Knicks cursing/uncursing situation. They talked about his newfound interest in sports and which teams he might try to uncurse next. (Sal suggested the Mets, but I’m not sure even Danhausen can get them to right their ship this season)

On Becoming More of a Sports Fan:

“Yes, absolutely. It felt like watching a movie. There’s like a beginning, a middle where you think the heroes are going to lose and they win last second. They come out on top. It’s like a whole…It’s like wrestling.”

On the Next Team He Might Un-Curse:

“I probably should do a Detroit team, I think…I’m from Detroit. Yeah. So probably…Pistons had a good run one time. Tigers could use a good run. The Lions almost got a good run that one time. We’ll think about it.”

Danhausen has been announced for tonight’s WWE Raw in Detroit, so it’ll be a homecoming for everyone’s favorite very nice, very evil wrestling & sports savant. Live coverage will start here on 411 at 7:30 PM.
