Darby Allin Reveals His Mount Rushmore of Skateboarding, Plans To Run NY Marathon Without Training for It

AEW star and former World Champion Darby Allin recently appeared on Dr. Beau Hightower’s YouTube channel, where Dr. Hightower gave Darby Allin a chiropractic adjustment. Allin spoke about his Mouth Rushmore of skateboarding, his plan to run in the New York Marathon, and more. Below are some highlights:

Darby Allin on His Mount Rushmore of Skateboarders

“I would say, obviously, Tony Hawk, how influential he is to the actual sport of skateboarding, and he got so many people into skateboarding. And I feel like Bam Margera, for me, was a no-brainer because he I don’t know he was so inspiring, like the crazy life you can live outside of just, you know, the **** you can do for a living. And then I would say guys like Geoff Rowley because he is- if anybody’s ever seen Geoff Rowley stuff, he is a skateboarder that is willing to die for skateboarding. He does the most gnarliest ****. Like, if he fails on it, he’s going to die. Like fall off a 30-foot building. And that’s kind of like how I like to wrestle. So, you know, and then there’s, man, I’m trying to think. There’s so many there. I would say Dustin Dollin is another one. He’s a complete psychopath on the skateboard. So that’s kind of my Mount Rushmore of skateboarding.”

On His Worst Injury From a Match With Brody King

“Probably fighting this guy [Brody King]. [laughter] Yeah, like literally fighting this guy. There’s been so many times. One time he German suplexed me off the top rope in Seattle, and my legs touched before my back did, and I was in a wheelchair for two days. It was insane. But those are probably like my worst, like, you know, you know, I’ve been actually kind of lucky to not have been injured as much as one would think, right? You know, everybody’s going to be like, ‘Dude, you’re going to be in a wheelchair by your 30s,’ you know, and they were saying that when I was like in my 20s. I’m 33 right now, and I feel amazing.”

On His Plan To Run the New York Marathon

“Yes and no [On his cardio]. I’m doing the New York Marathon in November, and I told everybody I’m not even going to train once for it and just try to see what happens.”

Darby Allin is scheduled to face Kevin Knight in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the TNT Title at AEW All In London. The event takes place on Sunday, August 30. AEW All In London 2026 will be held at Wembley Stadium and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
