This year, the WWE Hall of Fame will finally hear the immortal words “Here comes the Ax, and here comes the Smasher”. WWE announced this morning that the tag team of Demolition, Ax & Smash, will be part of the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame class and will be inducted in Las Vegas, Nevada during WrestleMania Weekend.

Demolition has long been considered one of the biggest snubs for WWE’s Hall of Fame. They held the WWF Tag Team Championship on three separate occasions, with their first reign of 478 days setting a record that lasted over fifteen years. Bill “Ax” Eadie worked for the WWWF for years prior as Bolo Mongol & the Masked Superstar, challenging for the WWWF Championship on several occasions and finding success across Georgia & other territories.

Barry “Smash” Darsow previously wrestled as Krusher Kruschev in the Mid-Atlantic & Mid-South territories, serving as a Russian sympathizer alongside Ivan & Nikita Koloff. While Demolition were obviously conceived as the WWF’s answer to the Road Warriors, Ax & Smash made the role their own and were a dominant force in the ring that could either work as top babyfaces or heels in any tag team division.

Bryan “Crush” Adams joined Demolition in their last months due to health issues Ax was going through that kept him from competing regularly. After leaving the WWF, Ax sued the company over the rights to the Demolition name, which led to years of litigation & bad feelings.

It’s believed that Demolition got approved for the HOF now due to Vince McMahon’s departure from the company, as he used to control who got in. The former WWE Tag Team Champions signed Legends deals with the company last year.

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker got the honor of informing Ax & Smash of their induction, which you can see below.   We at 411 congratulate Ax & Smash on finally receiving this well-deserved honor.
