Details On Plans For Roman Reigns’ Upcoming Opponents

Roman Reigns has a couple of World Heavyweight Title defenses coming up, and a new report has details on who those opponents could be. Reigns is already announced to defend his title on the September 14th episode of Raw in Mexico City against the winner of a luchadore tournament. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that the feeling backstage is that Penta will be the winner and go on to challenge Reigns.

One source in the company said that the tournament is a “unique opportunity” in Mexico for WWE and that Penta is the right choice go capitalize.

In addition, sources told WrestleVotes that LA Knight is cutrently being planned, with a “strong sense” within the company that the match between the two will take place at Money in the Bank. This year’s iteration of Money in the Bank is set to take place on October 10th at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Reigns won the title from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, held it for 116 days, and has defended it three times since then. Most recently, he defeated Seth Rollins on night two of WWE SummerSlam.
