Diamond Sheik Was Unimpressed With Initial Dynamite Diamond Rings And Explains Crafting The Third
In a recent appearance on The Spotlight, Diamond Sheik explained how he landed the opportunity to make the third Diamond Dynamite Ring held by MJF (via Fightful). The wrestler and jeweler was less than impressed with the first two rings to bear the title and feels his version is far superior. You can read a few highlights from Sheik and watch the full episode below.
On his perspective on the past and current rings: “MJF and I are very close as far as our personal relationship goes. I made that Dynamite Diamond ring and it was the third iteration of the ring. I don’t like to bury anybody, but whoever did the first two did a shitty job and it was a horrible ring. The third ring blows it out of the water. It’s valued at $125,000. All real diamonds, all real gold. There is a video of me diamond testing it, with a legitimate diamond tester mind you, not one of the fake ones that all these Instagram influencers like to use in the middle of a mall. It’s a real diamond tester. Made that for MJF, he loved it so much, he had the ring for around a month, pulls me to the side, and goes, ‘Hey man, I want you to make an engagement ring for me.’ That’s two rings I’ve made that MJF is in possession of. He’s good to me. I don’t know if I can say he’s a good dude because he’s not everybody’s cup of tea. Definitely salt of the earth as far as I’m concerned.”
On how he got the chance to make Ring No. 3: “It was my idea, I pitched it to Cody (Rhodes). Cody was like, ‘Can you do that in 15 days?’ It was at a Dark taping in Orlando that I pitched it to him. ‘We’re 15 days out from Winter is Coming, can you do it in that time?’ I said, ‘Hell yeah I can do it, I’m the best there is. Don’t even worry about it.’ We got the contract made.”
On if he will get a chance to make another Dynamite Diamond Ring: “I’m sure I will be soon. I don’t know if they’re going to do it again at Winter is Coming, but that’s around the corner and they know that I do good work.”
