Disco Inferno Responds to Insult From Cody Rhodes on Last Night’s WWE SmackDown

As previously reported, Pat McAfee was revealed as Randy Orton’s mystery caller last night on WWE SmackDown, and the duo attacked WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. Later in the night, an incensed Cody Rhodes went off on Orton and McAfee, comparing the reveal to finding out that instead of Hulk Hogan as the third man in the nWo, it was Disco Inferno.
A fiery Rhodes stated during his promo, “That’s like if Scott Hall and Kevin Nash talked about the third man in the nWo and instead of Hulk Hogan, it was Disco Inferno.”
Disco Inferno, aka Glenn Gilbertti himself, later responded to Rhodes’ comments on social media. Gilbertti wrote, “If I catch @CodyRhodes on Old Canton Rd when I go back to visit my mom, that boy might get a good ol’ fashion Marietta tushy kickin’.”
This isn’t the first time Rhodes took shots at the former WCW Television Champion. Eight years ago, Rhodes responded to Inferno’s complaints about no one in the business knowing how to work anymore on social media.
At the time, Cody Rhodes said to Disco Inferno, “Stop. You know nothing. You have drawn 0 dollars. No fan has ever left a show thinking about you. You were lucky to be a juiced-up double-lifer ‘over with the boys’ type in an era where you hid in plain sight, coasting on others’ success. Couldn’t hang then, can’t get booked now.”
