Cody Rhodes Goes Off On Pat McAfee In WWE Smackdown Promo

Cody Rhodes was feeling fired up after being taken out by Pat McAfee on WWE Smackdown, taking shots at McAfee and his representation in a heated promo. As noted, McAfee was revealed as the person who has been calling Orton to give him advice heading into WrestleMania. He helped Orton attack Rhodes and ranted about how Attitude Era fans are being left behind.

Later in the show, Rhodes came down to the ring after Damian Priest and R-Truth defeated The Miz and Kit Wilson. He hit Wilson with a Cross Rhodes and then got on the mic to yell about McAfee, comparing him to Disco Inferno in terms of the mystery caller being a letdown.

“We all got dressed up in St. Louis tonight to find out who Randy Orton was talking to on the phone,” and color me surprise, it was Pat McAfee,” Rhodes said. “That’s like if Scott Hall and Kevin Nash talked about the third man in the nWo and instead of Hulk Hogan, it was Disco Inferno.”

He continued, “Pat, you stoner, grifter, Logan Paul without muscles, human hat rack, fly by night. You’re gonna get your receipt, and boy I felt it. And I should have; you’re a former NFL punter. But Pat, you and everyone who represents you — and I know who I’m talking to — can kiss my ass. Oh no, is that too far? What are you going to do, fire me? It sure worked out for you last time.”

Rhodes and Orton will compete for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42. McAfee has said that if Orton doesn’t win, he will leave wrestling TV forever.
