Backstage Note on The New Day Potentially Signing With AEW

In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp answered a fan question regarding the expectation of former WWE Superstar Xavier Woods (aka Austin Creed), joining AEW once the New Day’s non-compete period expires.

Per Sapp, everyone he speaks to in AEW thinks “it’s a foregone conclusion” that Woods will sign with AEW. Additionally, Sapp noted that the New Day has “a ton of people pushing for them” to sign with the company.

As noted, The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) recently parted ways with WWE earlier this year, after they turned down a request to restructure their WWE contracts that would have led to a pay cut. It was later reported that AEW “unanimously” wants them to join the company, and there appears to be heavy support for them to sign with the promotion.
