Latest On Possibility Of New Day Going To AEW

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of the New Day are leaving WWE, and a new report has more context around the possibility of their heading to AEW. As noted, Kingston and Woods exited WWE at the start of the month after turning down a restructuring of their contracts that would have led to a pay cut. It has been reported that sources in AEW unanimously wanted them in the company.

According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, a source in AEW was “upbeat” at the chances that Woods and Kingston will at least wrestle a match in AEW. Several AEW talent have expressed interest in working with the two.

As has been noted, the New Day duo are now going by Kofi and Austin Creed such as their upcoming appearance at GalaxyCon later this month. It was noted earlier this week that the two have more as-yet-unannounced convention dates set and are expected to be a big draw for convention appearances.

The two are expected to be free agents around the first weekend in August.
