Shrek and Donkey are Back in Official Teaser Trailer for Shrek 5

Shrek and Donkey are finally back in their long-awaited return to the big screen in Shrek 5. Universal Pictures debuted the official teaser for the new animated sequel this week (see below).

In the new sequel, Donkey reunites with Shrek and his family for another whirlwind adventure. This marks the first theatrical Shrek movie since Shrek Forever After in 2010.

The new sequel features the entire original cast all back to reprise their iconic roles, including Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Fiona, and of course, Eddie Murphy as Donkey. Emmy-winning star Zendaya also joins the cast as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter Felicia. Other new cast members include Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo as Felicia’s brothers, Fergus and Farkle.

Shrek 5 is directed by franchise veterans Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn. Vernon previously co-directed Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Vernon also voices the fan-favorite character Gingy across all the Shrek Universe features. Brad Ableson (Minions: The Rise of Gru) also serves as co-director.

Shrek 5 hits theaters in Summer 2027.
