Teddy Long Believes Vince McMahon Will Be Back

Teddy Long was always quick to punish miscreants on TV, usually with a match against the Undertaker or Kane. When it comes to one particular alleged miscreant, however, he demurs a little bit. On a recent interview with TMZ, the topic of Vince McMahon came up, as inevitably it must with WWE veterans.
“I don’t know what happened or any of that stuff,” said Long, about the circumstances leading to Vince leaving the company. One thing he does think he knows, however, is that McMahon will be back to the wrestling business some way, somehow.
“I don’t think the chapter has ever closed with him,” said Long. “He loved this. This was his life. I had a chance to ride on the plane with him. And one night we was on the plane and we soon as we took off, he talked about wrestling until we landed.”
Long noted that even at McMahon’s birthday party, the man was acting like a hands-on producer. “I watched him at his birthday party during the rehearsal,” he recalled. “They had a band and some singers there, a choir, and they were rehearsing before they got ready to go. And I saw him and he had his headsets on, and Kevin Dunn was there. Kevin has always been his right-hand man and he’s looking at Kevin, ‘Kevin, get him over there!’ You know what I mean? He’s at home. I looked at him, you know, and I’m like, this is him. This is what he does. You know what I mean?”
