Dominik Mysterio Names Most Important Quality Wrestlers Need, Hated Being On TV As a Kid

Dominik Mysterio says that being able to adapt is the most important quality that a professional wrestler needs to have. Mysterio and Liv Morgan recently appeared on JaackMaate’s Happy Hour for an interview, and during the conversation the hosts asked Mysterio what quality is most important for someone to make it in the business.

Mysterio pointed out how being able to adapt to situations on the fly is essential considering how often things can change on a moment’s notice, whether in creative or during the ring. He also noted that he hated his experience on WWE back in 2005 when he was the focus of the Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero feud, because he didn’t like having the attention on him. You can see the highlights below:

On the Most Important Quality a Wrestler Needs:

“I mean, I would say being able to be adaptable. Because correct me if I’m wrong here, but the way the nature of our business goes, you just never really know how the audience is gonna react. You never know how things might go, or things might change in an instant. You have an idea and then right before you walk out, the idea changes or something gets moved and you just have to adapt and be able to change on the fly, or be able to do what you need to do in that moment. So I feel like if you can’t adapt or like can’t get with the program, it’s going to eat you up and spit you back out.”

On If He Grew Up Not Feeling Nerves About Being On TV:

“I don’t know if that’s necessarily fair to say. I would say like when I was a kid, I just didn’t understand it… I hated it. Like, not wrestling. Like, I loved wrestling, I loved watching it. I just didn’t enjoy the attention on me.”
