Drew McIntyre Reflects On Working With CM Punk Despite Animosity

It’s well known that Drew McIntyre and CM Punk don’t get along, but McIntyre understands that they work well together. McIntyre and Punk had a feud in 2024 that played off their real-life animosity and earned praise for their intense matches, including a Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood.

McIntyre was asked about his dynamic with Punk in a clip from his interview on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk podcast. He noted that he can’t stand Punk but knows that he’s good at his job.

“He’s a piece of crap,” McIntyre said (per Fightful). “I avoid him whenever I can avoid him. I can tell everybody, he’s a genuine piece of crap. I can’t stand him.”

He continued, “I got writers telling me, ‘You’re working with that guy’ and I’m like, ‘Alright, I can’t stand him but I know he’s very good at his job.’ I can’t stand him. You put us together, it’s magic for the audience but also, we have to be professional and not pound each other because if we pound each other’s heads, I would murder him. Did you see him in UFC? It would look like that if it got real in there.”

McIntyre is currently promoting the new WWE and ReelShort series Agent of Shadows, which he stars in. No word on when he’ll be back on TV yet.
