Drew McIntyre paid tribute to the late PAC, during his appearance on What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon. McIntyre brought up PAC, who died late last month at the age of 40, while talking with Stephanie McMahon about how quickly life can change and again while talking about how he chased wrestling growing up in Scotland. He recalled working on the same London shows as PAC in 2006 and 2007 and the prediction he made about him at the time. You can check out his comments below:
On How Quickly Life Can Change:
“I’d heard a story that’s probably not true but I still like it, with John Lennon having to fill in an answer at school for what he wanted to be when he grew up. Like I said, probably not true. But in this story, what he said was ‘happy.’ That’s what I want to be when I grow up. In the future, I just want to be happy, because you never know when things are going to go away. You never know when life’s going to go away. We just lost Ben the other day, and that’s how quick it can happen. You’ve built your future, everything seems perfect, and boom, your whole world just changes like that.”
On PAC’s Talent:
“I remember in 2006, 2007, we were doing shows in London, and he was just incredible. Almost insane how he could fly; I’d never seen the precision. I told him, ‘You’re going to be the one that makes it big from the UK.’ And he said, ‘No, you’re going to do it.’ And then to watch his journey and how far he came and how much he achieved, it was awesome. He was always complimentary to me, and it’s so cool that so many people from the UK have now done so much in the world. Generally, it was Americans and Canadians with a couple of Brits sprinkled in here and there.
“But to see the worldwide representation in WWE, specifically from the UK and even Scotland. There’s only 5 million people in Scotland, and we’ve had more people than I can count, about eight or nine different superstars, and most of them were girls. That really blew my mind. At one point, I was WWE Champion, and Joe Hendry was NXT Champion. Two of the three biggest titles in the world were held by people from a country of 5 million people. Can anyone work out the percentages for the entire world?”
