AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Vikingo has shared an update with fans following his knee surgery.
As noted previously, Vikingo was set to defend the AAA Latin American Title against EK Prosper on the June 30 episode of WWE NXT. However, he injured his left knee during rehearsals. As a result, the match was canceled, and Vikingo was written off television through a backstage attack by Keanu Carver at the start of the show.
Earlier today, Vikingo took to social media to share a post from a hospital bed and reveal that his surgery was successful. He wrote:
“Nothing will be the same again, but everything can be better than it ever was. HDLV family, everything was a success thanks to God 🙏 Thank you, my beautiful doll @aleidis_oficial.”

The injury comes as a blow to Vikingo, who recently defeated El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to capture the AAA Latin American Championship. This is not the first time that he has succumbed to a knee injury. Two years ago, he missed several months of action due to a torn meniscus and ligament damage.
On yesterday’s Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR), Dave Meltzer said that the injury could be serious, noting Vikingo’s past issues with his knees. You can check the report RIGHT HERE.
411Mania wishes the AAA star a speedy return to the ring.
