As previously reported, there was a new wave of NXT roster cuts by WWE yesterday, including Adriana Rizzo and Wendy Choo. Ellen Akesson was also among the latest wave of roster cuts, and she commented on her release yesterday via social media.
Akesson wrote, “I have been released from WWE. I truly loved it here. From the wrestling to the security staff to the coaches to the fans to my friends to the daily small routines like locking my bike at the PC. I am confident that I did everything I could these 6 months. Thank you for the love.”
The 27-year-old Ellen Akesson hails from Sweden. Her background includes armwrestling, powerlifting, and streetlifting. She became a globally ranked world champion in armwrestling and is also a Powerlifting National Champion.
She signed with WWE earlier this year. She never wrestled an official match during her WWE tenure.
