The charity auction of El Grande Americano II’s mask from AAA Noche de Los Grandes has reportedly drawn quite the reaction from Fanatics. As noted, Fanatics and WWE put the mask that Americano II wore in his mask vs. mask match against OG Americano (aka Chad Gable) up for auction late last week. 100% of the net proceeds are set to benefit the Dr. Sonrisas Foundation, which offers support to children suffering from critical illnesses by fulfilling their dreams.

As of this writing, the auction for the mask is up to $40,0015, up from $8,115 six days ago. According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, sources said that Fanatics is “flabbergasted” with how well the auction is doing.

The success of the auction has Fanatics brainstorming other ideas for ring-worn merchandise. The report notes that among the ideas were some items that could even be bid on before a match takes place.

No word as of now on when or, ultimately, if such items will be made available nor what they might be. The Americano mask is not the first time Fanatics has offered ring worn merchandise, nor the only one currently available; as of now there are items from NXT stars Jaida Parker and Lola Vice up for auction, as well as a match-used trash can lid from Parker and Blake Monroe’s match at NXT Vengeance Day, all signed with inscriptions from the talent.
