Fixing the WWE Raw Men’s Tag Team Division

Last week, I talked about how I would fix the SmackDown Women’s Division. This week, I wanted to discuss how I would improve the Raw men’s tag team division going into 2026. 2025 was not great for the men’s tag team scene on Raw. While SmackDown was tearing it up for most of the year, we had barely any title defenses or tag team division matches on Raw.

We seem to be getting a bit of a restart as The Usos are now Tag Team Champions and a solid base of teams under them. However, that doesn’t mean much if the booking isn’t in their name. So, like last week, let’s look at how the Main Event, Midcard, and Lower Card should hopefully shape out over the next year.

The Usos won the Tag Team Championships on the last Raw of 2025. Since then, they’ve had zero defenses. This is a stark contrast to Lee & Styles, who were defending the titles regularly. I know Jimmy is probably home with Naomi during the European tour. But if that was the case, they could have waited to do the switch until Saturday Night’s Main Event.

That would have given us a solid build to the match, and Styles still would have been available for his Rumble match with Gunther. But they did the switch early, and here we are. A month without a defense, what started as a hopeful reset has just sent us back again.

The Main Event

Let’s start with the top of the card. As stated, The Usos are the current WWE World Tag Team Champions. At the top we also have The New Day, Lee & Styles (if Styles doesn’t retire after the Rumble), The Judgement Day (once McDonagh is back), and that’s about it.

The first thing I would do is have Paul and Theory start working in the tag division. It gives us an established group that already has issues with The Usos.

Last week, I mentioned moving The Creeds and Nile to SmackDown. So as a replacement, move the MFTs to Raw. Solo has been on SmackDown for his entire main roster run, so give him a new home and let GoD do their thing.

Lastly, I would actually get behind the LWO as they are extremely talented and deserve to be in the title picture. This will give the top of the tag scene a solid group of teams to cycle in and out. Heating up the LWO will also cover for Judgment Day until JD returns and replace Lee & Styles if Styles is done.

The Midcard

Moving the LWO and Creeds up to the top of the division is going to leave some gaps. To address this, let’s first take Alpha Academy a bit more seriously. Tozawa at the very least, deserves more, and Otis is often slept on. The formula for them would be simple as well. Tozawa starts hot and then gets beaten down, before tagging in Otis to clean house. It’s nothing new, but it works for a reason.

Los Americanos are on the cusp of the top of the division and probably won’t be seen as mid-card for much longer. While I would much prefer Dunne & Bates getting this shot as themselves, I’m just glad to have them doing something.

The War Raiders are one of those teams you can move up or down the card with ease. I’d keep them in the midcard for now, let them be the veteran team that the midcard is built around.

To round out the middle of the pack, I’d call up Hank & Tank. They don’t have much to do in NXT, and are decent enough to be a couple of mid-card powerhouses.

Feuds

At the top of the card, the most immediate feuds are going to be the Usos vs New Day and Vision. Outside of that, I don’t see the Usos staying in the division after they lose the titles. Because it seems this is just a slow burn to Jey’s heel turn.

By the time the Usos drop the belts to The Vision, JD should be, hopefully, back. I think a Finn & JD vs Theory & Paul feud would be good. All four are talented, and we’d get great matches and promos. This can also feed into Finn & JD getting kicked out of The Judgement Day.

GoD, LWO, and New Day can all slot in as opponents for both teams during this feud as well. Giving us a strong top of the tag division for most of the year. By the end of the year, I expect the Americanos to be firmly situated at the top of the card, feuding with the LWO as all the teams trade the belts between them.

For the lower half of the card, the War Raiders can be the gatekeepers. The veteran team that’s been to the top and can easily slot into a title shot as needed. But are mainly there to help the teams around them get over. I think they’d actually be great at teaching Hank & Tank how to work as a big man team. And then, while they are feuding, Alpha Academy and Los Americanos can be the other feud.

Los Americanos will have the numbers advantage to counteract Otis. And mixing it up with Dunne and Bates will help remind everyone how good Tozawa is. One other thing, as needed, they can bring in teams from AAA to help give some fresh matchups. Psycho Clown & Pagano would be my first choice; they could have good matches with all four of the teams in the lower half and give fans something different.
