Fred Ottman, aka Typhoon, has announced that he has to pull out of a scheduled appearance after undergoing multiple eye surgeries. The WWE Hall of Famer posted to Facebook on Thursday to announce that he will have to miss 80’s Wrestling Con on October 31st due to the situation.
“Coming at you with some sad news: October 31, I was scheduled at 80s Con up north and unfortunately I’ve had multiple surgeries on my eyes,” Ottman said (per F4W Online). “And I will not be able to fly for a while, on top of some other stuff, and I still got some other things, irons in the fire, so to speak.”
He continued, “It’s more than just these cool geriatric shades that I’m wearing here to help with the light right now but I wanted to let everybody know that I’m sad that I won’t be able to attend. Hopefully everything will be finished up and better on down the road. So, I love you; just giving you the heads-up.”
Ottman, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year as Typhoon alongside the late Earthquake, has had a number of recent health struggles. He was hospitalized early last month and was released on September 15th.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Ottman on his recovery.
