Glenn Jacobs, better known as Kane, is officially done with his time as mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. The WWE alumnus has officially completed his time as mayor of the city, signing his final ordinance in the county which bans the use of Flock cameras by agencies of Knox County government.
Jacobs wrote on Twitter:
“Get the Flock out of Knox County! My last official act as Mayor was signing this ordinance prohibiting agencies of Knox County government from using fixed ALPRs. Thank you to County Commission for standing strong in defense of Liberty!”
Jacobs, who is a WWE Hall of Famer as Kane, was elected as mayor of Knox Country in 2018. He was reelected in 2022 and was unable to run this year due to term limits.
Jacobs spoke with WATE in Tennessee to reflect on his time as mayor, saying, “Ultimately, the measure of a mayor is ‘did you leave your community in a better place than when you started?’ Overall, I feel that is what has happened here. Knox County was already the best place to live, work, and raise a family. I hope working together, we’ve made it even better than it was eight years ago. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to be a small part of that. Until we meet again, be blessed.”
When asked about his political future, Jacobs told the outlet that he has to consider what will be best for his family.
