Glenn Jacobs Reportedly Viewed as Candidate for Senate Appointment

A new report has detailed the possibility of Glenn Jacobs, i.e., Kane, heading to the Senate.

According to the latest Axios report, Jacobs is being viewed as a potential Senate appointee. This could occur if Senator Marsha Blackburn wins the race for the governor of Tennessee.

That said, Blackburn’s team has shot down claims that she’s looking to form a short list for the job, adding that she is currently focused on winning in November.

“She has been very clear there will be no discussions about a potential replacement until the appropriate time,” Blackburn’s campaign manager Abigail Sigler told Axios.

Blackburn is a firm favorite in the governor’s race. If she wins, the Senate seat would be vacant, and she’d have the right to appoint an interim. The interim appointee would serve a partial term before the state goes to election in 2028.

Glenn Jacobs’ eight-year tenure as Knox County mayor ended at the beginning of this month.
