Gunther Comments on Tapping Out to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41

Gunther has established himself as a Career Killer in recent months. He defeated Goldberg and John Cena in their retirement matches before putting an end to AJ Styles’ career at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event earlier this year.
However, at WrestleMania 41, the Austrian powerhouse got a taste of his own medicine, as Jey Uso forced him to tap out after locking in the latter’s signature Sleeper Hold. Gunther recently appeared on What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, where he was asked about tapping out to Uso in Vegas last April.
He said on his submission loss to Jey Uso, “With Jey, at the moment, that’s the thing. I can swallow my pride. When it’s over, it’s over. I have no issue with that. If the audience views that as a weakness, let them be. It’s alright!”
Gunther exacted revenge on Jey Uso on the June 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, as he regained the World Heavyweight Championship. He would go on to defeat Goldberg by technical submission in the WCW legend’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July before dropping the belt to CM Punk at SummerSlam Night One.
The Career Killer picked up another submission victory this past Monday night on RAW, forcing Dragon Lee to tap out to the Sleeper Hold after being unmasked.
