Gunther comments on potentially facing Brock Lesnar in a long-awaited match now that The Beast is back on WWE TV.
After teasing retirement following his defeat to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, Lesnar shocked one and all when he showed up on this week’s WWE RAW and destroyed The Ruler. Lesnar’s return has reignited fans’ hope of seeing him battle Gunther once he is done with Femi.
Gunther was asked about the potential match during his recent conversation with the Italian Wrestling Channel. The Austrian said that he’s currently focused on dethroning Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion at Clash in Italy. However, he is open to locking horns with The Beast once he gets rid of Rhodes.
Here’s what he said:
“I wasn’t even there on that day at Mania, because it was the day after for me when a lot of it happened with Brock, so I only saw it in a headline, and that’s literally all the info I had. Obviously, he’s back now, but I haven’t thought about it. I’m really focused on what I’m doing with Cody now. I will be challenging for the WWE Undisputed Championship in Italy, and that’s my full focus right now. After I beat Cody, then Brock can challenge me, and we’ll do that.”
