Gunther vs. Nick Aldis Now Official for WWE SummerSlam 2026

It looks like Gunther and Nick Aldis will settle things in the ring. Just made official by WWE, Gunther versus Nick Aldis is now scheduled for WWE SummerSlam 2026 next month.

During today’s SummerSlam Kickoff event, Gunther came on stage and confronted WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, asking Triple H what he was going to do about Aldis. Triple H said that Gunther pushed Aldis too far. Aldis then came onstage to join the argument.

Aldis told Gunther, “Any time you want to try me, you just let me know!” Now, the matchup between the former World Heavyweight Champion and the SmackDown General Manager has been made official.

Things have been getting physical and heated between Gunther and Aldis for weeks now, and it appears it will now culminate with the two squaring off in a one-on-one matchup. Triple H wrote earlier, “We’re going to settle this in the ring… at #SummerSlam!!!”

WWE SummerSlam 2026, featuring Gunther vs. Nick Aldis, is scheduled for August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
