HOOK Says Anthony Bowens Is ‘Under Consideration’ For Joining The Opps

Anthony Bowens is interested in joining The Opps, and HOOK said following last night’s AEW Dynamite that the notion is “under consideration.” This past weekend’s episode of AEW Collision featured a segment where Bowens came up to HOOK and asked about potentially joining the group. The Opps member asked acknowledged their friendship and said he knows Bowens has his back but wasn’t sure that he saw Bowens as a killer of the kind that the stable needs.
That led into a backstage video posted after last night’s Dynamite to Twitter. HOOK was with Katsuyori Shibata and addressed Bowens’ request. He asked Shibata if he found any candidates for the group overseas. Shibata shook his head.
“Makes sense,” HOOK began. “Well, if it you missed it last week, Anthony Bowens approached us looking to join The Opps. His accomplishments can’t be ignored; it’s under consideration. But the man needs to prove to us that he’s a killer. See, the Opps are rebuilding but never lacking.”
You can see the full segment below. Bowens spent the end of last year in a reluctant team with his former Acclaimed partner Max Caster. Thus far he has had two matches on AEW TV in 2026; he teamed with JetSpeed in a loss to The Demand on the January 10th episode of Collision, then lost a match to Jack Perry for the #1 contendership to the TNT Championship at AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage on January 14th.
