Izzi Dame Credits Shawn Spears for Changing Her Career Trajectory

Izzi Dame may have moved on from Shawn Spears on WWE NXT TV, but she gives him credit for changing the direction of her career. Dame was part of the NXT stable that included Spears, Niko Vance, Brooks Jensen, and Tatum Paxley at different times. Dame and Vance dissolved the stable when they turned on Spears in June.

Dame gave Spears his credit in an appearance on Busted Open Radio, where she said he hellped her both on screen and behind the scenes.

“I will give credit where credit is due,” Dame began (per Fightful). “I think Shawn Spears single-handedly changed the course of my career. I will forever give him credit for — I just feel like he spoke to me in a way that made wrestling make sense.”

She continued, “So being able to go under his wing for the short period of time till we had to, you know, end him (a) couple months ago, was probably some of the most beneficial — one of the most beneficial times in my career. He really did teach me so much about the ins and the outs and the psychology of everything so, I will give him credit for that.”

Dame battled Zaria at NXT Halloween Havoc and came away with the win.
