Jacob Fatu was visibly emotional during the WrestleMania 42 Saturday Post-Show as he reflected on his iconic entrance that paid a tribute to his culture and his people and his monumental victory over Drew McIntyre in the Unsanctioned match, besides addressing his future.
The Samoan Werewolf went to war with The Scottish Warrior in the second match of Night One, using every weapon possible to slay McIntyre.
The toolbox ultimately helped him achieve his goal, as he blasted Drew with it and then nailed a Moonsault, sending his opponent crashing through a table to secure a pinfall victory.
Reflecting on his victory, Fatu said that despite being in WWE for two years, it was only when he walked backstage tonight that it really hit him. On what lies ahead for him, Jacob said that anything is possible. On his entrance, he admitted that he cried because it’s something he had envisioned since WrestleMania 40.
Below are the highlights:
On his victory over Drew McIntyre
“I’ve been in WWE for two years, but it ain’t really hit me until I was out there walking on the way back. And what I want to say to everybody who didn’t know me before I got here to WWE and everybody who’s supporting me now: Jacob Fatu has arrived!”
On what lies ahead for Jacob Fatu
“You know what? Anything is possible because, let’s keep it 100, I was the last cousin that got here, so if I’m here right now, that means anything is possible with Jacob Fatu.”
On his special entrance at WrestleMania 42 Saturday
“Keep it 100, man, I cried. It brought tears to my eyes because I manifested having my own culture, my people, my Polynesian people, to have me out there, so I represented Samoa, Tonga, Hawaii, Fiji, and all my Polynesian people, man. So, yes, it felt really good to have my culture and my heritage here.”
