During a recent interview with Bill Apter for 1WrestlingVideo, former WWE Superstar and Intercontinental Champion Jacques Rougeau revealed that AEW is going to honor his family at AEW Redemption later this month in Montreal, Quebec.
Rougeau said on the event, “AEW is coming to do a pay-per-view on July 26 in Montreal. QT called me up and asked me if Raymond and I would like to go to the Bell Centre and he says they would like to honor the Rougeau family, the four generations. They are going to have something. I don’t know what they’re going to have, but they’re going to have something on a video or something.” He continued, “And then after that, they’re going to introduce me and Raymond to the Montreal fans.”
The wrestling legend continued, “I’ve had a few sleepless nights because I’m so excited, you know. I’m a mark. I’ve always stayed a mark, but anyway, I’m so happy. I wish my uncle Johnny, my dad, who died, and my great uncle would see this moment. How that people, a company, an American company, comes to Canada to recognize us, and I’m just so excited and so proud.”
Jacques Rougeau and his brother Raymond previously teamed together in WWE as the Fabulous Rougeaus, managed by Jimmy Hart. Jacques Rougeuas also later became The Mountie in WWE, winning the Intercontinental and WWE Tag Team Titles with Pierre Ouellet.
AEW Redemption is scheduled for Sunday, July 26. The event will be held at Centre Bell and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
