As previously reported, former AEW and WWE star Jake Hager made his Power Slap debut last week at Power Slap 21. Hager suffered a third-round knockout loss to opponent Amanpreet Singh (aka former WWE and TNA wrestler Mahabali Shera). During an appearance on Busted Open Radio this week, Hager addressed his defeat, and he appears to be taking the loss in stride.
When asked if he took any offense to the online reaction to his loss, Hager stated (via Fightful), “Not at all. knew ahead of this, going into this that it was knockout or get knocked out and that getting knocked out was gonna generate just as much as getting a knockout.” The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion continued, “Now, of course, that’s not the result I wanted, but still, when you have a name like mine and going into a sport like Power Slap, it is an advantage, and I will use it.”
Jake Hager signed a multi-event deal with Power Slap earlier this year. As noted, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and her husband, AEW wrestler and former WWE Superstar Buddy Matthews, were also in attendance. There’s also footage of them reacting to Hager’s startling knockout loss.
