Jake “The Snake” Roberts Departs AEW, Calls Tony Khan a “Breath of Fresh Air”

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was signed by AEW in the early days of the promotion, making appearances in the corner of Lance Archer from 2020 until 2024 before trading Archer to the Don Callis Family for Rush, Dralistico & the Beast Mortos of La Faccion Ingobernable. Roberts was taken off television in November of 2024 and hasn’t been seen in AEW since then. He had also been working with AEW’s community relations department during his time with the company.
In an interview with Bill Apter just released that actually took place back in May, Jake “The Snake” Roberts revealed that he was no longer employed by AEW, but had no bitter feelings towards Tony Khan or the promotion. Roberts also admitted that he hadn’t been watching much pro wrestling lately, which is understandable given his physical issues and his fight to stay sober, both of which are going well for him right now.
On Tony Khan:
“I just finished up working for him. I’m no longer employed by him…He is awesome, really is. A breath of fresh air.”
