Jim Cornette Goes Off on Vince Russo For “Backstabbing” TNA

June 30, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

– Jim Cornette has never been shy about his opinions regarding Vince Russo, but he’s really outdone himself this time. On the latest episode of the Jim Cornette Experience on the MLW Radio Network, Cornette goes on an extended, forty-minute rant against Russo over the latter’s admitting that he contacted both POP TV and Destination America offering himself as a consultant in order to “fix” TNA and saying they’d been “sold a bill of goods” about what TNA could do.

The rant begins at 55:56 in the podcast, with Cornette taking Russo to task with his always-colorful choices of words. Cornette calls Disco Inferno, who was on the podcast with Russo, “harmless…as long as he’s never given a booking job” and says he only has a job because of Russo. He says Russso “has stooged himself off again” and talks about the podcast, saying he listened to much of it but had to stop because partway through because “I couldn’t take listening to that f**king voice or seeing that…brown sphincter of a f**king face” and that by the time he got back to finish it, it had been taken down.

Cornette says that Russo was basically trying to fellate someone for a job and was “trying to basically tell the networks that are carrying TNA — if you can call POP TV a network at this point — but trying to tell the platforms that TNA has left available to them to stay on the air, that this program’s the s**ts, that nobody’s gonna watch it, you’ve been sold a bill of goods…and the only way to fix it is if you hire me. Not thinking that they may just say ‘Well f**k, now that this guy’s told us we just got conned by…Dixie Carter and these other wrestling carnies’ that they may just cancel the whole thing.”

He continues on for quite a while talking about his issues with Russo, covering their full history together, before closing out and saying he has cancelled his planned appearance at Wrestlecade in North Carolina this November because Russo will be there, and said that he never wants to be in the same place as Russo ever again. He said that the next time, Russo had better pull out or violence will ensue.
