Jim Ross Approves Of Kenny Omega Turning On Will Ospreay At AEW Redemption

On the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross — who works for AEW — praised the company’s Redemption pay-per-view from Montreal and made the case that the promotion is one hot act away from another surge. He also weighed in on Kenny Omega laying out Ospreay in the main event to build their feud to AEW All In: London. You can check out his comments below:

On AEW Redemption:

“I thought as usual, it was an outstanding PPV from AEW. They never cease to amaze me. They keep outdelivering the last one, and I think that’s one way to describe this past event — they just keep doing it. I think there are a lot of people that haven’t discovered AEW, believe it or not. A lot of wrestling fans that I would encourage: tune into the TV shows, check them out, see how you like it or not. If you look at their roster you’ve got to be, if you’re objective, half-ass impressed that they have quite the talented roster.”

On What AEW Needs Next:

“I’m obviously pulling for them. Tony Khan’s been a blessing in my life, and I certainly appreciate his support. I’m a big believer that AEW is continuing to grow. They just need a break. They need somebody on the roster to get hot as hell, and that’s not impossible to pull off, I can tell you.”

On Kenny Omega Turning On Will Ospreay:

“It’s a good idea. You want to keep guys fresh, and there are a lot of variations of freshening up a talent. Kenny with an edge suits me better than Kenny as a pure babyface, just for my tastes. He’s an extraordinary talent. He’s got something to prove to himself every time he goes out there, because he’s very competitive, and the folks in the UK that come to Wembley are going to see a hell of a match. There’s a lot of ways to skin the cat, a lot of ways to book a card.”
