Jim Ross Defends Jeff Jarrett Over His 1999 WWE Pay Dispute 

On a recent episode of his podcast, “Grilling JR,” Jim Ross pushed back on the long-running narrative that Jeff Jarrett held Vince McMahon up for money before dropping the WWE Intercontinental Championship title to Chyna, revealing that he personally spoke to Vince about Jarrett’s pay. But Vince McMahon was never going to screw Jeff Jarrett out of a dime. Anybody who thinks he was is really wrong, in my opinion. I’ve had my ups and downs with Vince, same as a lot of other guys. I saw a thing online the other day that said JR’s been fired 10 times by WWE. I don’t think it’s been quite 10 times, but I’ve been fired more than once. You can’t wear it, you can’t live with it — just move on.”
