On a recent episode of his podcast, “Grilling JR,” Jim Ross thinks Vince McMahon was not as high on Demolition as the broader wrestling community was. He spoke about why he thought the team’s Hall of Fame induction took as long as it did. Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Here are the highlights:

On Vince McMahon’s Take on Demolition:

“I don’t think — for some reason, it seems like Vince was not as high on Demolition as a lot of the people were. At least that’s my take on it. They are certainly deserving [of the Hall of Fame].”

On Eadie:

“Bill Eadie just did a great job. He’s a real solid citizen, I think that’s one of the great things. That’s why he lasted so long. He was reliable, he was dependable. He could work with his hood, his Super Destroyer stuff, or not. I have a lot of respect for Bill Eadie.”

On Barry Darsow:

“Barry Darsow got his real start working for the Cowboy (Bill Watts) in Mid-South as evil Russian Crusher Khrushchev. I’m not so crazy about that name, but nonetheless they were a hell of a team. And Barry’s lucky he got hooked up with his partner, Bill Eadie. Because that was a great learning experience. What a great mentor to have on the road with you. And I think it’s a good move by — whether it’s planned, a long-term plan or not. It was a good marriage, those two guys. They do a lot of card shows. I see them when I make my appearances here and there. Always good to catch up and talk to them.

“So I’m glad they’re getting in the Hall of Fame. They certainly deserve it. And they’re the kind of guys that would that would look at this as a real opportunity. As an honor, something to be proud of. I know guys that are in the Hall of Fame that don’t even wear their ring. I don’t get that. My old partner, Jerry Lawler is one of them. I’ve never seen him wear his Hall of Fame ring. He wears a Superman ring, which is his business. But nonetheless, they deserve what they’re getting. It’s just coming — I’m with you, Conrad. It’s a little bit late in the game, but I’m sure glad that they’re getting honored by going into the Hall of Fame this year.”
